Kiran Kumar - TV Artist

Kiran Kumar is a Mumbai-based Indian actor. He has worked in many Bollywood and Gujarati films. He has been the main hero in most of the gujrati movies. Veteran actor Kiran Kumar, whose best years in Bollywood were lost to shoddy films, made the most of his opportunities on the small screen. And today he\'s ranked among the finest actors of Indian television. He is the son of veteran character actor Jeevan.He got married to Actress Sushma Verma who also acted in some gujarati films as a main heroine. He has two children. Vikas Kumar who is currently working with David Dhawan as an assistant Director and Srishti, who is studying BMM at MMK college in mumbai. Kiran Kumar is a Kashmiri by birth and claims his lineage to the Kashmiri royal family (his grandfather was the vaziree vazarat). He was schooled at daly college a boarding school in Indore. He enrolled at R. D. National College in Bandra, Mumbai, and later joined the Film and Television Institute of India (FTTI) in Pune. As a young boy, other than a vague desire to become an engine driver, it was the film industry which drew him because of his father\'s association with it. Sunil Mehta\'s Prem Kishan was his first television serial. He went on to work for many other television serials including Zindagi, Ghutan, Sahil, Manzil, Katha Sagar, Aur Phir ek Din, Papa (B4U). Kiran Kumar begun his career as the hero in Do Boond Pani in 1971, and went on to play villain in several films. His role of the loathsome Lothia Pathan in Tezaab made people sit up and take notice. A big hit in Gujarati films, Kiran Kumar came into television \"to do the kind of roles I love.\" Kiran Kumar\'s foray into the small screen was with a Cinevista production. \"In Cinevista\'s Zindagi I played Benjamin Gilani\'s father. It was very beautifully executed by Ved Rahi. When Cinevista approached me again ten years later, for Ghutan, I took it on as I wanted to get back to televison and restore the association.\" Kiran Kumar\'s old pal, Prem Kishen grins at the thought of his friend. \"We grew up together.
